OK...since the weather sucked I couldn't clean the car outside. So, no wheel pics tonight I'll get them hopefully tomorrow.

Here's pics of the "super secret super cool mod" though!

How's about some Viper seats!!!

A few of them are before I conditioned them the first time. I JUST conditioned them tonight, so they are far from where they eventually will be. But, it gives the general impression! They are MUCH easier to get in and out of and support WAY better than even the power enthusiast seats that were in it. Added bonus: They are lighter too!

Pics of the wheels HOPEFULLY tomorrow...

Is that what florida sun does to the dash and trim pieces? Cause my tan interiors (what's left of them) look the color of your headliner.

The car was origionally a West Virginia car. The lady who owned it used to tow a hot dog cart with it! LOL. I don't know how long the car has been in Florida, but I'm assuming a while since it is rust free underneath. I have one spot in the hatch area where the roof panel meets the sail panel that is rusty. It should be fairly easy to stop(or slow WAY down), but getting to it with the hatch on to work with it propperly isn't fun.

I know that when my buddy origionally bought the car it was sitting under a tree outside and had been there for a while. It was not covered or protected in any way. The dash, somehow, survived and is in good shape! It shows *slight* burnage on the very top, but otherwise looks good. The plastic is in fair condition. Apart from the discoloring, it seems to be holding up well. I plan to recolor it here shortly. I now use a sunshade religously and the windows are tinted at 20%, which helps considerably.

The carpeting is off a few shades and is pretty dirty IMHO. I'd like to replace it at some point, but it isn't high on the priority list.

The headliner was replaced about a year ago or so IIRC. It was as close to the origional color as we could find. I still have to redo the sunvisors, and have the material to do it, I just haven't gotten around to that project.

The rest of the plastic is actually in good shape and is pretty close to the origional color. There were different shades of tan over the years for G-body cars. This one is one of the lighter verisons. The earlier one is darker IIRC. I don't know what the later one looked like. I know the Maserati TC tan was about like the Viper seats.

OK...FINALLY as promised!!! Here's pics of the new wheels and tires! I JUST got done washing the car, so forgive the flash rust on the rotors. Oh...I actually weighed them. They came in at 33#'s! The stock 6.5" crab with a 205/60/15 was 37#'s(that was from a buddy's car, not my old tires), just to give an idea.

That's a sexy looking Daytona right there. Love the seats too. If they were closer in color to the interior, you'd think they were designed for it.

Thanks all! I appreciate it.

The next major project I think is going to be the engine(besides doing some stuff in the interior to make the seats look more at home, like recovering the center console lid, and possibly redying the armrest and dash beltline). I've got some other minor things I want to accomplish, like getting my gear-based boost controller built and working, making the stereo more easy to remove for track excursions, and finishing up the suspension(in its current form...I'm going to take it the one next step to coil-overs eventually). I want to make enough power to get the car solidly in the mid/low 12's in street form so that I can give minor bolt-on supercharged Mustangs a good run. More importantly, I want the car to be very responsive for track day events, and good around town manors. Having a lot of peak power is cool and all, but I like a car that is also friendly! I don't know exactly how I'm going to pull this off yet, but I want to stick with 8V's with this car to do it.

After that, then it's going to be paint time(finally!) That is going to be simple: I'm keeping the stock white, but I'm going to go with a single stage paint, not only for cost, but ease of maintainence. I plan to replace the stock decals ont he car, and do a few other tasteful additions, but nothing TOO over the top. I like the clean, understated look of the car, and I want to keep it that way

I'll be over tomorrow, Brent! that way you can give a firsthand account of the seats!
