I have an '88 LeBaron convertible with a 2.2L Turbo, AT. The k-frame is cracked with holes in several places. I'd prefer to get a remanufactured part or a new OEM part. Does anyone know who might sell these? Would a 1995 k-frame work (last year the car was manufactured)?

you can use a 91+ k frame, but you will need the 91+ cast dual pivot control arms AND the knuckles from the same for correct fit and steering geometry!

Mikey,

A suggestion: Find a solid K-member to fit your car, clean it up and take it to a welding shop. Have them go over the joints with a MIG welder and stiffen the unit up. Maybe some guys on here would have some ideas for adding reinforcements, too. Anyway, this should solve your problem with cracking.

Good luck, Bill
