might be a little wide for any stock rims less than 6.5 wide. height should not be a big issue

Why dont you take your wheels to a wheels / Tires dealer, some of them actually make custom wheels and they can add more "bed" for a wider wheel... it wont be expensive.

Your 17s are 24.4" in diameter while those 15s are 26.1" in diameter. Simply take the differance of 1.7" and divide it by 2....all around the tire will be .85" more height than the 17s....if you have 1" clearance above what you have now you should be okay....in a straight line that is

it will rub the strut perches, then on a p body it will prob rub more. I have 245/45/17's on my Spirit and had to modify the fenders because it would bend them when turning

I have problems with a similar sized tire trying to rub on the front bumper cover (my cover hangs back a little too far).

I dont see why people would be so worried about fitment unless those wheels had a horrible offset and put the tires into the strut. The perch has room for that tire but the sides are iffy. Obviously yours seems to not be a big problem.
