I really think I could fit 20's on this thing. Crazy. The front end is sitting kind of high, that seems to be due to the weight reduction I got from the auto to manual swap. I'll have to get in there and cut a few coils off the springs. Wish it were that easy to drop the back end, I'd have this thing in the weeds. The tires are 225/40-18's a hair smaller in diameter than the 225/60-15's it had on it when I bought the van.
I picked up the rims on CraigsList, nice and cheap. Whatcha think?

put dynasty springs on the front maybe? i know daytona springs are supposed to give you 3-4 inches of drop, so dynasty springs might work better, or you'll be grinding tires. as for the back...leave it....most lowered vehicles are too low in the back!

If I put the front end where I want it, the van will have a horrible rake. I'd just like to bring the back end down an inch or so, the front down 4 or 5.. And it was my understanding it's not just Daytona springs, it's the whole Daytona strut, because the spring perch is lower on the strut.

looks nice and clean, but would look more wicked if you lowered it. I wish lowering the rear was as easy as the front. here is my non turbo van with daytona strut/springs. I think the rake is ok.

hey gassie....

that rake looks wicked....reminds me of my dad's 72 burb with the 3/4 ton springs on the back. that rake is perfect if you actually USE your vehicle for hauling people/cargo/trailering, etc.... for me, a level car only works in car shows....

I "actually use" my van, as evidenced by the LoJack logo on the back windows.. I put 1,000 miles a week on it. That said, I plan on removing the overload helper springs. I never put more than the weight of a couple bags of tools in it. It's more of an office for me. I've had cars with rake like that before, they tend to be very prone to understeer in corners. Well... There was one little Datsun 1200 I had that was just a freakin drift machine because of it... But RWD is a whole different world.

I cut 2 coils out of the front springs, removed the overload springs from the back and for the heck of it, I removed another leaf. It's so low, I'm going to have to remove the mudflaps, they drag! haha.. Rides like you'd expect a lowrider to ride.. It's pretty much on the bumpstops. I'm quite happy with it. No rake.

Editted my last post, swapped in a much better picture. Still not parked on level ground, but it's good enough.

In the first picture, yeah, the second picture, it's not exactly on level ground. The van sits level.
