Hello, I have an 87 Shelby Z with the 15" x 6.5" Wheels. One of them will leak pressure out slowly, I can drive around for quite a while and then it will go flat, I can see a little bit of damage on the rim itself, like somebody may have driven on a flat tire. Can this be repaired? Or do I have to continue searching for just one crab wheel? Thanks all for your time.

John

Could you post pictures of the damage? Wheels America might be able to fix it. Fixrim.com

It sounds like you have a slow leak on the bead seal. The fix is to dismount the tire, clean the bead and remount.

Yeah, I figured, the last time I had it filled the guy peeled back the rubber and said that he could see a little damage, he sanded the rim a little bit to try to smooth down any rough edges, but the tire still leaks. I have even auto crossed and drag raced on these wheels, got horrible time due to suspension issues and the tire still held pressure, its just when it sits for quite awhile then it leaks. IDK. I have the wheel in the trunk of my other car, I will get pics later.

fill the tire up to abot 40-45 lbs and spray window cleaner all around the rim, and check for bubbles. It could also be your stem so check that too.

Brought the wheel to a buddy at Discount tires and he said that my tires are 12 years old, he said that that is the major contributing factor into my tire woes. The dang car has sat still on and off for the last 12 years that the tires have only 50% tread left on them, that's horrible.

Well, since I am in the market for tires, the ones on the crabs say 225 50 R15, what are my options as far as sizes that are close to this, I have found a couple tires of this same size, but I was hoping if some other size, which isn't quite so expensive, would fit?
