unfortunately there are not many options for TDs

for the price, the GR2s are a pretty good compromise for a street car

any car you drive hard will need regular maintenance of shocks, struts, brakes, bearings etc ; its part of the game

you could convert to coil-overs ; others have modded stock struts to accept "inserts"

For stock springs the GR2s arent terrible, if you are interested in making it stiffer, inserts are the only option that wont cost double what you paid for your car. lol Colivers with bilstien inserts in the stock housings would work pretty well though.

is the a2 vw up to 1990? the koni catalog shows non sealed for 85-90. and sealed for 90-92. so im guessing the non sealed struts are the inserts right?

A2 Jetta is up to 1992, the struts changed though. The VW Bilstiens are probably better than the konis too, you should be able to run farily stiff springs on them. i was going to do that before I sold my charger, and I measured everything and it looked like it would fit, I just never did it.
