Had a question on these. I had one replaced years ago on a 92 iroc daytona i had and well... I swear they installed the wrong one. After the installed it there was absolutley no tension on that side of my steering anymore. I was really irritated and kept bringing it back until they finally fed me some lamo excuse claiming it was the steering gear box $500 to fix. Why did that happen? are there really ones that will fit that are different somehow? ANy advice on which ones to buy would be helpful too seeing as one of the boots on one mine are currently torn a bit

Your rack may have been bad, there's no way for us to tell over the internet. Tie rods are the same for the most part. The biggest difference is quality. If you want to be confident in them, spend the money & get Moog. If you're replacing one, you might as well do the other. Also, if you're questioning any other steering/front suspension parts, do it all at the same time & get an alignment. It can get real expensive replacing one part at a time & aligning it every time. You can count the # of turns to remove the old one & install the new one turning it the same # of times. You'll get it pretty close to how it was.
