How to indentify struts

Was wondering if theres a way to indentify suspension without pulling it apart? I noticed the backs have kyb stickers on them but thats about all i know for sure have been replaced. I would imagine that whoever put them in would of head sense to replace front and back with hopefully new springs?? right?? Guess i was hoping there was something maybe etched on the strut somewhere
