i have a GLH clone with the 4 bolt hubs and i dont want to go 5 bolt, but i think i need bigger brakes
i have some killer rims and tires that i run that are 4 bolt and i want to keep it that way but im wondering if any other 4 bolt cars have bigger brakes than the horizon im working with that i could convert? like an early K-car maby or early lebaron?

1984/85 caravan or daytona you will need mounts and calipers too and i had to do a little machining on the caliper to hub mount to get it to fit right. but i had all the braking i could use. worked great got rid of the solid rotor on the omni in favor of the vented rotor of the carvan.

of course an 83.5-84 SC or 84 GLH would have the 220 mm rears and the vented fronts too

i tried that and it didn't fit cuz the rotor is wider, i had to use the new yorker caliper which then wouldn't fit the omni mounting bracket so then i had to use the mounting bracket.

Any chance a VW golf steering knuckle can bolt up to the front end? if they can, you would have some good VW factory upgrade option. On my Golf I went from 10.1 to 11" rotors with dual piston calipers, and it was all straight bolt on.

there are plenty of Bolt-ons available for the TDs using ChryCo parts including 11" rotors ; do a search on SLH upgrade both on TD.com and the 'net

brake upgrades for our cars (Lbody and other TDs) have already been scienced out ; no need to reinvent the wheel

certainly no need to go furrin'

My brother has an 84 Omni and put the front vented rotors off an 84 van and the KH calipers off an 88 Lebaron on it. It works great, he also has the rear solid disks off an 89 Lebaron redrilled for 4 bolt with the Lebaron proportioning valve and master in it.

Some of the parts on our TD's are "furrin".
Chrysler and VW worked together before, thought they may have made some parts that are interchangeable. The VW's have more factory brake options. it is possible to even bolt on a 12" rotor setup. and lets not talk aftermarket support.

nothing new about that discovers vw-chrysler combo. however the only part that chrysler used was the 1.7 vw powertrain, all other parts were strictly chrysler including the transmission, hubs and suspension.
