anyone here who has a brace connecting their rear shock mounts, can you tell me how you like it and what it changed about the car?? thanks.

I got it from Chris, and am very happy with it. I'm not sure how much it would help in a sedan, but the rear end of the daytonas undergoes a lot of body flex because of the hatch. I understand it's even worse, and the bar is that much more helpful, on t-top cars. The bar eliminates a lot of the body flex and lets the suspension do it's job. Anything you can do to stiffen the rear suspension is going to lessen understeer, and this bar was somewhat helpful with that but don't expect a massive difference in handling. It was more like a massive difference in ride quality.

well, the flattened pipe with holes drilled in it is so cheap and easy ill probly do it anyway, but i think that the dynasty could still benefit from it, tho maybe not as much as a daytona or any hatch.. thanks for the info..

anyone else?

I have a rear bar from a Neon, only like 13 bucks off of Ebay... just waiting too have a TD running long enough too actually install it lol

distance between my strut tower inside bolts: 39 inches

120 inch piece of 1 inch conduit: $3.49

price of one strut tower brace: 1.50 or so, :P

found out theres next to no way to connect my rear shock towers, and the only possible way would mean ditching my space saver, which is the only spare i carry because my spare well is taken up by subs.

im thinking about mounting the space saver on the bottom of the spare well, but i have to see how much ground clearance and departure angle difficulties thats going to give me before i try it.

thanks guys, i might end up with a strut tower brace pretty soon here :P

something makes me think ill regret that, but then if i take out the spare, install the brace, and it doesnt make a difference, i can always take it back out and put the spare back in.

Could you triangulate the bar- ie bend it to not only connect it to between the rear towers, but also tie it to the unibody? Then you wouldn't have to lose anything.

I went to get a can of Fix-a-flat, and it said "not for use on performance z-rated tires". Maybe it's because of the softer compound or something.....

I think it's because they don't want to get sued when you do a buck thirty going down the road on a tire full of goo. lol
