Koni Shocks on my van: Install Question

I just installed the rear suspension on the van (Koni shocks). I noticed some odd things:
1.) The box is labelled "Adjustable shocks". I know how to adjust the STRUTS, but how in the heck do you adjust shocks (i.e. I don't see a knob to turn, however I did see some paper in the box talking about turning the assembly via bench vice, but that seemed more like struts in the pictures)?
2.) The top mounting hole of the Koni shock has a rubber bushing installed, however the bottom mounting hole is just bare metal? Is there a bushing I need to buy when installing these?
Before anyone freaks out (assuming the bushing is needed), the van is on 4 jack stands, so no real safety/time crunch issues for the moment (hence the reason I am asking this).
Thanks as always guys.
