Just wondering if it is possible to swap rear discs from an 88 shelby on to a 89 mini? I am guessing they will bolt up? Any issues with proportioning? Thanks for any tips,
william

Well if somebody has a van and any of the cars, just look on the rear axle and see if the spindles are interchangable, if so then you can swap. The axles are different between cars and vans, dunno if the spindles bolt on the same way or not.

What about proportioning? Dont minivans have some valve that adjusts the proportioning according to the ride height in the rear? I thought I remembered seeing one on my Dads 86 many years back. I guess a maual prop valve would solve any issues. I will see if I can knock the wheels off my neighbours mini and check the spindles. I can't imagine that they would be different...

You answered your own question, a manual proportioning valve will be needed. I wouldn't think the spindles would be different except for the fact that the axles are different. This is one of those things I've been meaning to look into. Let us know what you find. Or if you can take a pic of a spindle fro ma car I can see if it matches with the van's.
