I bought 2 new c/v shaft assemblies for my 87 Daytona. Shouldn't the spline on the wheel hub end just slide right in? I can't get it to go in without alot of force. Both the left and right axles are tight. Should I file the splines? The splines look new (even though they are a rebuilt unit). I just wondering if new splines need the edges filed a bit.

I finally got it to go in. One just needed a little bit of cleaning and grease and the other one had nicked splines that I had to file. I guess the rebuilders on these things just bang them around and smash the splines. Once I filed them smooth, it slid right in.
