Hello. I have an 87 Daytona Pacifica 5-spd. The parking break is sort of a necessity for me because my driveway is somewhat slanted and i don't want pressure on the trans. I have adjusted it so it holds on the first few clicks. But because the rear e-break drum is so rusted, it doesn't release so well. I worked some WD-40 in there and it worked well...but when i got it back from the trans shop, after 2 weeks, it froze up again. Is there a better lube than wd-40 for this? any help would be great...thanks in advance

are you sure you dont have it too tight?? if you cant spin the rear wheel easily with it off, i say its too tight and you should just click it back a little bit and push the pedal farther.

I'm sure its not too tight...when i last worked on it, it released real nicely...but after 2 weeks of sitting, it tightened up again...i guess from rust

the ebrake on my Daytona catches in the sleeve that goes to the drum. The part that brings it through the framerail. I was gonna try some PB blaster in there to free it up. WD-40 didn't work for me either

I would work some thicker oil in there.. the wd-40 probably got soaked up.
