Well it seems I have gotten myself into a 91 L body revamp. The Omni is a 91 tbi/5spd. Looking to go 2.2 16v auto. Can you folks point me to the needed supension and brake upgrades. Thanks Capt. Chrysler

Are you sure that it isn't a 90 omni? I don't believe they made 91s...

Konis are the best upgrade if you can find them.

I have a set of used fronts but I need to get about $275 for them with GLHS springs.

Thanks,

Rich

Thanks Capt. Chrysler

i cannot find the site at this time, but there's a site completely designated towards what brake setup is good on the L-bodies. I read through it a while back and from what I learned, '89 turbo minivan front brake calipers, when swapped onto an L-body, increase stopping power by 40%!!! so i went to the j-yard and picked up a set of calipers, now I just have to get some time to put them on lol!

I'll keep looking though, but does anyone have the link handy for this guy?

I second that. I put some on my SC a couple months ago. The clips were confusing, but if somebody talks you through it, it isn't that bad.

If you don't want to go to the junkyard and get old calipers and what-not, Cindy sells the entire upgrade with braided stainless brake lines, new disks, and pads at fwdperformance.com.

Here are a few pics of the upgrade. I should have taken a picture of the old calipers next to these...there isn't even a comparison. HUGE.

You can see the clips we are talking about. These might be sufficient for helping you put them together right. Hope these help.

Hmmm, those are different then mine. Mine don't have those clips. Are those the 10.25"? Mine are the 11". I have the front and rear 11" on my '85. Stops instantly.

Yeah, these are the 10.25". The disks are the same size as the stock, but the calipers are much, much larger.

Wow, where do 11" disks come out of? Would love them in my '86 GLH.
