Hi guys i have a 1990 dodge daytona es and on i was wondering how to clean a wheel of baked on brake dust. You know that brown crud that makes your wheels look like crap.

Just wondering if you guys knew of any "magic" chemical i could use to get that stuff off.

bleach white works pretty good, come in a mostly white bottle with a red squiter.

or

Meguires *cleaner wax* works good to. it is slighlty abrasive so which makes it work better than regular wax..

Engine degreaser followed by power washing works well as long as the rims are not hot!

A couple washing and rubbings with simple green. I also use it on engine. Doesn't damage paint.

Meguiars Hot Rims/Cool Care All Wheel Cleaner is GREAT! I've cleaned my CSX-T Lemans wheels when they were very dirty. Spray on generously, let sit for about 30 seconds, spray off. You may have to scrub a little depending on how dirty they are, but this is pro quality cleaner and its safe for all wheels!

Brake dust tends to be acidic. Like dissolves like.
