raybestos and bendix are certainly reliable brands. i put a set of economy priced MORSE ceramic pads from AutoZone on my 89 Buick Lesabre. I have been rather pleased with them.

Well, I think a few people will argue with me, but my opionion on pads is.

Don't buy lifetime pads, they are very hard and annihilate rotors, plus they don't soak up the heat into the pad/caliper like softer pads do, which helps warp rotors.

On my l-body I run the cheap brand (from adv auto - something silvers ) and they dust a ton, don't work well cold, and don't eat rotors. On the other hand, they are rivited pads, once they are good and hot they work well, fairly short life (i lay waste to them about 15k miles/set) but my rotors havn't warped and they aren't grooved the piss out of. They dont' squeek being so soft and they aren't touchy, in fact when stone cold they take quite a bit of pedal effort, but thats a totally different story when they are hot.

of course, if you don't want brakes that don't work cold, that dust alot, and wear out quickly, buy more expensive ones, but to me the cheap pads offer much more traits to a performance car than one might imagine. I'm going to take a few different sets of pads to a road course next year when I go, just to find my real opinion
