225/50/15's in a spirit??

would 225/50/15's fit in my 91 spirit r/t? the width is what im worried about (and my car is away for the winter so i cant even measure anything)

i am goa try the same size tires, all depends on the wheel offset, line are 35mm i think
i for 215/50/15's now and got some space between the strut and tire, just not sure if its enoufgh

I had them on my old spirit mounted on crabs. Fit fine, no probs

any idea what the backspace on crabs is?
woudner how much a 1 or 2 inch drop would make with the 225's

I had 225's on 6.5" crab wheels in a Spirit ES with CSX springs, which dropped the car about an inch. Looked great, handled great and there were no clearance issues at all.
