yea cut the top! Ive done it in the car, cut like 3/4 through them then drop the car down real fast with the jack, if they dont pop then push up and down on the car, if it dont work, then cut a little more and repeat. The spring vant fly out its held in with the strut up the middle, but sometimes its s mess to cut the extra peices out. Try to cut it where the wrap stops origionally so its sits straight

On an L-body you have no choice but to remove the coils off the bottom, because the top part of the coil tapers off.

Heres a pic of how i did mine

Thanks

I used everything off of an 86 Shelby Charger, and transfered the suspension, drivetrain etc.. to my Rampage. (both L-body cars) So he would have to do the same thing i did, which is cutting the coils from the bottom. I could be wrong tho. Oh ya i cut 1.5 coils off, and it dropped my Rampage a good 3 inches

EDIT: Hey Simon, did you give me a positive reputation point? You must have because i went from 68 rep. points to 80!! WOOHOO 20 more point to go, and i will have 2 green dots Thanks!!!!

hey I just wanted to say that I cut the rear coils in the back of my SC aswell and I did them the same way I did the front but I took two whole rings off, but the first ring dosn't really count for much hight because it coils back into itself for the bucket, but it still seats nice without it, I recoment this to every Shelby charger owner , its worked really well and is ****utional in everyway, looks and handles great. The shorter springs acually have a better spring rate as they are mesured in lbs per inch take an inch off and the spring rate goes up because there is less spring to compress. Here is a pic. One and a half coils on the front and two on the back.

I got it! Cut off 1.5 then 1.75 coils. Sits GREAT, looks GREAT. The only downside... struts must be older than I thought... The car is a little bouncier now, haha. But it definitely rides harder. Just need better struts this summer and all should be fine...

Should definitely help my gas milage on this 450 mile trip coming up too! Having that nose catching air the whole way really sucked... Oh, gotta readjust headlights now too.
