Electric adj. shocks/struts?

I found a '90 VNT shelby daytona pilot car in a salvage yard last year. It had been picked over pretty good but I could see that it had been equipped with the cockpit adjusable suspension. The wires were still hanging there but the shocks/struts were gone. I took the switch out of the console and the vin tag from the core support. There was also a second tag next to the vin tag that just had "1990 PVP Pilot" stamped in it.

Does anyone know how many of these adj. suspension cars were produced? How well did the system work?

HOLY CRAP IT DOES EXIST!!!!!!!! According to my sources ZERO cars actually left the factory with that option... This the first I've ever seen that it did actually hit the streets, save that little box you got that that is a piece of TD history

Wonder who took the shocks/struts? It may well be that their car ALSO has adj. stuff? Why else would they take them?

I should clarify that the car did have struts/shocks on it, they were just parts store replacements with the old control wiring plugs zip tied to them. The previous owner(s) probably went to replace them at one point and either the electric ones weren't available or they were but the price horrified them. Too bad.

Here is a little better photo, disregard the feline approacing from the top. Nice of Dodge to leave a tiny place for your change LOL!

Wow! I remember seeing a picutre of that in a pre-production broshure...it looked a bit different if i remember correctly, but that is amazing. Must be a one off. Would get a nice price on ebay.
I wonder if the shock are still available from the dealer? Anyone have access to vin decoding from the dealership? It would be interesting to run the VIN and get an options list!
NICE, NICE FIND!

"An electronically controlled suspension became available. However, I have not seen any information that this option was ever actually produced. Chrysler propaganda photos showed this option with 3 buttons on the center console. Let me know if you ever find one."

This is off allpar.com

WOW! You may have a one off unit!

The Vin breakdown does not specify that it had adjustable suspension. However, it could be one of the codes with no description.

Cool, it would be interesting to run a carfax on this VIN. If I remember correctly some of the old paperwork in the glove box showed registration as late as 1998-99 for what that's worth. Maybe I'll go see if it's still there.

if I remember correctly, for a while Tokico made a kit that was adjustable remotely, from the inside of the car. don't remember hearing too much about it though. they were surely expensive, and for the money Koni's have always been the ideal for our cars.

I wonder if that "PVP Pilot" tag means that it was the prototype car for the system, and for some reason they discontinued it before production? Maybe it was a test car that leaked out, but I'd thought that Mopar tended to crush pilots back then. Where was this yard at?
