I recently read somewhere (and I don't remember where I saw it now) that when you replace struts, it is important to replace the strut mount bearings as well. I would think they would need replacement only as necessary. These seem to last seemingly forever in our cars, am I right?

I'm planning on installing a set of Mopar Performance struts in my LeBaron GT Turbo 'vert and I wasn't planning on replacing these unless I found something wrong with them. I need to pick up some rear shocks to complete the deal. I'm not going to run Konis on this cruiser so don't bother suggesting them. (I'm saving up to put them on my Spirit R/T though! ) I guess it will be the KYB Gas-A-Justs. Anyway, I'm thinking of trying out the original springs from my old '87 Shelby Z that I still have. (I put Eibachs on it a long time ago but kept the original springs when I sold it.) Anyone know if this will lower the car? Any thoughts on how it be? I'm guessing these are quite a bit stiffer than the originals.

If you change the oil change the filter. just replace them. I's not worth the frustration of pulling it apart again cause you tried to save money.

GEEZ your a DC engineer asking this? Do some investigation at work about the paddle shift and how to put it in out cars. There has to be some demented minds lurking in the plant.

I had to replace my old strut mounts when I swapped over to Koni/Eibachs, they were rotted to heck and the bearings were trashed! I used the KYB direct replacements which look like they perform A LOT better, Good luck!

If the mounts have been on the car as long as you can remember or if you've never personally replaced them, I would get new ones.

I don't know about you guys, but it seems that when I buy a used TD, I end up going through the whole car anyway! 99% of TDs out there have been neglected unfortunately. Might as well do it now for reliabilities sake.

Mine were ok, I bought a set of KYB mounts and ended up not using them. Maybe east coast guys would have more problems with them because of the salt though.
