Anyone know a difference between the K frame on a 1990 omni and a K frame on a 1987 Shelby charger? Did they make any improvements to the design/suspension? Just wondering. ~~Heath

I think I remember some people mentioning that they got cast control arms in '90? or was that only other cars?

Someone once said that but it was then shot down.

The 90 omni kframe should be the same as the 87 SC. I don't think they even added any strength for the turbo cars but I could be wrong.

the newer K frame should have dual-pivot control arms that may be cast or they may be stamped steel, i don't know when the exact changeover date was.

the dual pivot control arms are a lot nicer than the older style. i just upgraded to them on my shelby z and there was a HUGE difference. the car handles much better, and bump steer is all but eliminated.

Can you make a newer frame fit or convert it?

From the research I am doing it looks like if I can find a dual pivot L body K frame it will probably be guarded by a troll and Unicorn.................. Creatures of Myth.

I am pretty sure they don't exist in stock form.

I do have one that I had made from a daytona kframe but haven't tested it yet. I have it guarded by numerous obsitcals and traps (read scattered parts) in my garage.
