Hey all, I've got a line on a bunch of misc suspension and brake parts from a daytona that a friend is gonna sell to me for 150 bucks. From what I understand that includes the wheel assemblies, k frame, rear axle(front and rear disc) and all sorts of other goodies (including rims/tires although the tires would probably need to be replaced).

what I need to know is how much work is involved in putting this into my car and whether its worth the 150CDN for the associated parts. Are the parts direct bolt on or is there some modification required? Ebrake aside (it doesnt work anyways heh) what's involved?

thanks for the input, I look forward to seeing how this car handles/stops if I can get this mod working.

yeah, 150 canadian would be roughly 100 bucks US, so yeah, you are getting a lot for your money! it will be a lot of work, but the car will handle and brake far better than stock.

hopefully you will get the big sway bar included with the k frame. also, be sure and get the master cylinder and prop valve from the donor car, or atleast use the prop valve off a rear disc car and get a 24mm m/c somewhere!

you should be able to do it within a day. suspension wise should have no problem swapping everything over. you are going to have to use the 4 disc brake master cyclinder.

let us know how it goes. i plan on doing the samething but first getting my car running with a good motor and trans. if that ever comes about.

The work involved in swapping suspension has a lot to do with the state of the current equipment. On my old rust bucket lebaron, it took me like 4 hours to get a bolt out of the rear shock. If it hadn't been rusted and stuff, it should have taken 5 minutes to remove that shock.

Other than that, though, it shouldn't be too hard. The front suspension is basically held on by a ball joint and 4 bolts. Take those off, and you're golden.

Also, you might want to consider dropping another $100 or so on new bushings all around. You could get them from fwdperformance or polybushings. Since you're going all new parts, might as well rebuild them before you put them on.

Thanks for the posts guys. I'm thinking I'll go take a look at the parts and see what kind of condition they are in (and possibly reexamine my own suspension as well for rusty bolts etc heh). The bushings have needed to be replaced for a while so I'll probably do that at the same time as well.

Garret, if it's shelby material and it's not looking like I can scrape the cash I'll be sure to pass it on to ya.

thanks again, and wish me luck
