Just curious if anyones runnin a pair of cross drilled rotors?
Do the pads last as long as it would on a stock setup? or less?
Also im not sure of this, but can cross driller rotors be turned or is it a one shot deal with these? Ive never done it at the shop before when I worked there because we were more of a OEM style replacment repair shop. Im debuting on the cross drilled rotors for use of a daily driver. I dont really want to go the route of dross drilled AND slotted because in the back of my mind a sharp edge would cut away at the pads and id get excessive wear with that in my mind..

Im planiing on goin to the dealership for factory pads.. cheapo replacment rotors or aftermarket cross drilled possibly..

just checkin options..
if anyone could point me in the right direction on info for this stuff, that would be great.. My key factor is relibility, longivity, stock setup or a little performance over stock..

also I was thinkin of painting the drums, calipers and the exposed sections of the rotor that dont see brake pad for sh1ts and giggles.. nothign flashy.. bronze or gunmetal im thinkin.. donno.. anythings better than rust.. Has anyone done anything creative with drum and caliper painting?
this is for a shelby charger setup basically..
thanks

i have them on all 4 corners of my csxt. i autocrossed and do many spirited driving sessions. brake pads refuse to die. i actually have experienced better wear with cross drilled rotors for some odd reason. also they really help a lot with fade. i have cross drilled STOCK SIZED disks on all 4 corners and braided stainless brakes lines. brake fade? wtf is that? dont let anyone tell you cross drilled rotors crack and become useless after so long. they can be turned if they become warped but cause they stay so cool they are less likely to warp. i have never once faded my brakes and i live up in the mountains and use them a lot. and they look so freakin cool behind a set of open spoke wheels. slotted rotors tend to wear the pads faster and in my experience tend to tear chunks off the brake pads of gotten to hot.

I have the KVR cross drilled rotors and carbon fiber pads on my R/T and like them a lot. After just over 20K on them now there is still alot of pad left and no grooving on the rotors. The pads leave very little dust on the wheels and I have been hard on them at times. I don't know if you can turn the rotors but if I had to replace the pads right now I wouldn't bother. But when it comes to stock rotors I just replace them if they need turning, I know these are a bit more expensive.

I had a set on my old Spirit, and have them on my Avenger right now. The Spirit did tend to eat pads, but I think that was just poor brand choice for a pretty heavy car on my part.

I used minivan rotors cross drilled, as they are the same physical size, but have more material and less vane area = less likely to warp and crack. A rotor intended to stop a minivan with 7 passengers and luggage can surely stop an Omni forever, even if it is cross drilled IMHO.
