Does anyone know how to do the swap from analog gauges to digital ones on an 87 LeBaron (J-body)? I have a digital cluster out of an 87 LeBaron that is identical to my car, but the plugs on the digital cluster are round..digital ones are square..

The digital cluster physically fits in my dashboard.

Any help would be appreciated.

You need the '87 electrical factory service manual. Then the correct connectors with a couple inches of wire.. Splice splice splice..

Cool thanks! Could I assume that I should just splice wires of the same color? Or is that a bad idea?

Go over to the daytona forums at allpar.com and use the search button. This topic's been covered at least a dozen times there.

For the most part, yes, colors are the same. But the digital cluster got several inputs the analog didn't. You'll need to track those inputs down. A wiring schematic is handy for that sort of thing.

Ive been searching for a while on a simular question, and havent found anything.

My '86 Daytona has a cable speedo, do I need to do anything for the '86 digital speedo to work? or do I just not hook up the cable?

Just make sure the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) on the transmission is still good. If you get an error code for it when you check codes, it's not. I think most of the cars still had the big unreliable one in '86.. They got more reliable over the years.
