The blower motor stoped working in my 92 dakota. I checked the fuse, fine. Check for power to the fuse box fine. Checked power to the blower motor fine. But there is no ground going to the motor? I touch the ground wire to a good ground under the dash and the blower motor blows like mad, even if the switch is in the off spot?? changed the control switch and same thing. What is the problem? I refuse to hook it up to a toggel switch, i am the kind of person who like to have EVERY thing to work right in there car or truck. Unlees its a beater LOL.

Any you guys have a idea what it could be or what i could check or change?

look for the blower resister. It it located in the air flow. Most use a thermal unit on them that goes and shuts down the blower. It can be next to the blower or under the hood on some models. But it is in the air flow of the system. It has 4 to 6 wires depending on how many speeds the blower is suposed to have. It usually uses two 8 mm nuts to hold it in. And like you found it is in the ground part of the circuit.

Before spending any money pop it out and look for a small can looks like a small capacitor and jump across it. Its really a thermal fuse. Most resisters have them and it is the main cause of them going bad. Put a jumper across it and see if the blower works.
