Hey whats up everyone i made a post a while back and everyone was really helpful thanks guys. Anyways i just came into this electrical forum and started seeing that people that are doing the same swap as me are using either using the stock tbi harness modded or a totally different harness. I have chosen to use a 89 turbo van harness and a 89 turbo ecu from a laberon, am i on the write track? Because i got everything all wired back up and the ***** wont crank lol. Im just making this post to make sure i can use the 89 turbo van harness and 89 turbo laberon ecu together. All i did was take out the old tbi harness and used the complete harness out of the van plugged it up at the bulkhead. thanks for the help guys

the smec will work on the minivan...as i have a baron or daytona smec in my mini and didnt mod a thing...however if its not cranking i would be wondering if you have a N safety issue..im shure someone will know wich wire ..but i would ground out the N safety wire and see if it cranks

find una here, you need to switch two pins and its a bolt in deal, otherwise everything gets all messed up.

Did you have to change the pinout on the 50-pin bulkhead to use it on the Omni? I know the '89 Omni and '89 Caravan both use the same bulkhead so it will plug right in, but the pinout differences between them might not be compatible could lead to a no-crank issue. You'll likely have to move a few wires by changing the pinout around so the circuits match up. This is pretty easy to do if you have the wiring diagrams.

you know i think ur right man...when i pulled the bulkhead back off i can see that some of the pins do look a lil different, like i have to switch a few things around, this could def be the cause of my no start right?

its only 2 wires, do a search, you will find this information, or track down Una and he can show you exactly which two wires and exactly what they do : )

haha, good news for me, bad news for you : ) Any breakthroughs? If it won't crank at all try bypassing the key switch and doing the starter relay by hand. If that won't crank it you know you've gotta bad starter. If that will crank it you might have a bad starter relay. Also, replace the word bad with "incorrect wiring to." After that I'm all outta ideas. This is pretty intersting to me because I'm planning on doing this swap verry soon myself : D Good luck
