Analog to digital - are sensors the same

I have an '88 lancer ES with the analog dash. I am considering converting to digital. My prior experience with these, on other cars, is that different sensors are required. Is that the case here?

I can't tell you what you ask but a search should help you this swap has been done and all the info you need should be able to be found by searching. If you search advanced try looking in the electrical section most of the threads I have read were there.
