I have a Canadian 86 Daytona Turbo Z that I bought and I am trying to swap in a English cluster. I bought one from a member and plugged it in. Everything worked but the tach and none of the back lighting. I noticed that this cluster only goes up to 85 MPH, didn’t the Turbo Z clusters go up to 120? Could it be that I bought a base model cluster and that is why it is not working? I checked all the back lighting bulbs and that’s not it... Any ideas?

They are all the same style plugs, the cluster must not work, if you had a CDN car it would have been in km/h, instead of mph.

I can't remember off hand what CDN ones go up to (haven't looked at some of mine in a while) I think 84 and possibly 85 they only went up to 85 mph, and in 86 they went to 125 mph

also check your fuses and dimmer switch, that might cause the lights not to work

Yea, it came with a KPH cluster that went too 200 KPH. I figure that all the conversions are handled in the cluster so I bought a MPH speedo from a guy here, that came from an 84 Daytona and it goes up to 85 MPH. When I got it, it is obvious that it HAS been opened up. Everything on my KPH cluster worked but was not always very accurate. When I swapped in this one only half of the gages worked. Then I got to thinking that usually a 86 Turbo Z speedo usually went to 120. I guess I will just have to get another speedo and try again...
