someone posted some time in the past about: if using the JCWittney type blue L.E.D. headlamp kit (like on the BMW's or Acura's, etc.) on a J-body, that you would have to take two of the three wires that run to the connector ( high and low beam wires....other wire being a ground source), and swap them around so you wouldn't have issues with a drop in voltage or something like that creating problems when you go from low to high......
Anyway, if anyone remembers something along these lines please chime in....

Do you mean a HID kit with ballast and all that stuff or just going to more wattage bulbs?

If a relay is easy enough, then yeah. Otherwise, not a ballast setup with all the junk, etc. It was more of a simpler matter. If i recall, it was just a simple taking of the two power wires and swapping them (per harness that is) so when you applied the new bulbs with the housing kit and made connection, then it would work as far as high and low beam settings. What initially happened to me was i adapted the bulbs and housing to the car's original location, plugged in the connector (per side) and it seemed fine. That is until i went to high beam setting, then it was AFU (all f***'d up). The lighting was all wierd like. Anyway,.....

Example: 1 wire is high beam power, the other is low beam power (originally), cut the two wires, swap and splice. Now the high beam power wire is were the low beam power wire was and vice~versa.

Does this make sense or will it not work? I'm only asking this, because i'd almost swear that it was explained this way before. Reason why,.....I don't know. Just that it worked....(at least if i'm not getting my thoughts/reading all wrong......then, yeah that's what it was).

well sounds like you need to shift the ground pin location to me...i would pull the connectors out of there plastic houseing and just swap and try em ...once you figure out the pattern then slide em back in the plastic ghouseing...no cutting needed
