I swapped a 604 to a 543 in my 90 LeBaron Conv't. Now the brake lights are stuck on. What should I look for now? everything looks fine underneath there. This is such a wiring nightmare.

the brake light striker on the brake pedal needs to either be swapped out or custom made.

happened to me when i did my conversion. melted the rear third brakee light box with the lights staying on.

for my conversion i had to custom make my striker. the brake light switch is bolted to the pedal assembly bracket that goes around the steering column at the firewall, behind the brake pedal.

i couldn't swap the striker from the original pedal cuz the striker was WELDED to the pedal (so i couldn't remove it) plus the striker was positioned differantly. luckly the donor pedal had it's striker bolted on so i just grabbed some spare iron, copied the original welded striker, ground it and bent it to shape and bolted it on. works like a charm.

i don't know. if i remember you didn't swap in the bracket? that means the bracket that holds the switch should still be in it's original location.

you don't need to move the switch bracket, just make a custom striker for your brake pedal so it'll strike the switch to turn off the brake lights.

Brakelight switch is usually adjustable, so no need to do some bigger jobs. At least that is in my spirit. When you remove it you need to push brakepedal to floor and remove one nut, if I remember correctly.
