Hey all.

Here's one that's left me wondering for a long time. My Lebaron has been mobile and running for a solid year now. It's an '87 that's been converted to a
T2 Intercooled with an Automatic trans. The car came from the factory with the full digital dash and a 12-button Nav.

Everything on the Nav WORKS with the exception of the Economy and Fuel Consumed functions. YES, the buttons do work as they were replaced from a fellow board member. When pressing the buttons, it beeps, changes function but they always read ZERO. I have changed many things on the car such as the speed/distance sensor, the Logic Module and the engine module under the hood.

ONCE did I get an Instant Economy reading.... it showed 23.7 MPG while I was sitting at a stoplight playing with the buttons, but as soon as I touched the gas and drove away, it read zero again.

Any idea as to what would cause this?

The speed sensor on one of mine is going out and when it cuts out the eco function on the traveler instantly goes to zero, when it kicks back in so does the mileage shown. From zero to 28 instantly. I'm thinking your traveler is not getting all the signals it needs to make the calculation, or the traveler itself has a bad connection inside.
Try swapping in another traveler temporarily to see if its a signal feed problem or the traveler.
