Yeah I have an 85 daytona turbo 5 spd and when I get on the gas it gets to about 4500 rpms and then back fires and then it doesnt seem like it wants to go at all in second when I get back on it after shifting into second. I had recently put a new engine out of an 85 dodge lancer. Im thinking that its to coil or the voltage regulator.

Probably not the voltage regulator, unless your voltage is really low. What is your voltage gauge say? First thing would be to check the codes in the computer. You can do this by cycling the key from the "ON" position to the off position 3 or 4 times, then leaving it in the "on" position. Shortly after, the check engine light or power loss light will begin flashing a series of codes. You can look the codes up here:
