Nope, 1st the 50 pin is moved under the dash in 88, then they reversed the sexes of the plugs as well so you can't pull wires out and just put them in your 50 pin. In 89 the headlight wiring changed from the 87-88 headlight wiring, they went to a 4 wire sysem instead of the 3 wires the 87-88's used. The plug is a different width at the wiper motor in 89 as well. You have to have the sub harness' to the front of the motor and starter as well as a plug or two changed there behind the battery.
With your T1 car all you have to do is plug an 87 T2 computer in, and run 2 wires from the AIS motor on the TB to the computer. Along with the associated hardware changes i.e. turbo, intake, etc.
