ASD Relay Replacement?

New here, but trying to bring a 87 GLHS back to life and need some help.

Car will not start. Coil is not energized (no 12V) and fuel pump does not run (no 12V). Fuel pump fuse is OK.

The signal from the Logic Module to energize the ASD is 12V, but the ASD output is 0V (measured at the fuel pump fuse and at the Power Module Connector). Pulled out the fuel pump fuse, disconnected the coil and fuel injectors, and the the ASD output is still 0V.

Connected 12V to the fuel pump, coil, and fuel injectors and car will start and run fine. Sounds like the ASD relay?

Would rather not buy an entire Power Module (assuming they are $$$) for only a bad ASD relay. I understand that later cars had a separate ASD relay. Is this correct?

Thinking about connecting a separate ASD relay, and looking for ideas. Thanks!

yup sounds like the ASD...

I dont think it is possible to replace the ASD on an early style PM; its an integral part of the circuit board which is 'potted' in place and thus un-accessible (even if you could ID which component it was)

however used PMs sell here for cheap, and I think you can get reman units for a reasonable price from the various parts chains; any 85-87 PM will work for you; check the FS section

I can sell you my "known good" spare PM if you are in a hurry or dont want to F around ; $35 shipped ; I know you can find them cheaper if you look around and are patient however

I'm a good seller, see
