Hey Guys, So in the last couple of days when I'm driving in my 90' Daytona I am hearing a Ding, Like if the door was open or someother type of warning. I'm thinking that its not the doors or the hatch switches because the dome light is staying off. would it be a sensor for the washer lever or something like that. It happens sometimes over bumps & when I turn the wheel (even slightly) the bloodly thing dings. Its starting to get real annoying . Any one got any ideas?

I'll check that out ------ Nope all fuses are good. I also noticed that if I'm seating in the car with her running and rock the car back & forth just be sitting in the seat I can make it ding, so what ever it is, it must be sensitive.

Do you have a bad hinge in one of the doors? If that door is hanging some on the hinge, even while latched the door can move enough to make the ding and not always flash the "door ajar" light. When going into a turn is it when the driver side or passenger side is facing the outside of the turn that will most likely tell you which door it is.

I just unplugged mine as I don't like things that ding anyway. On my 87 Daytona it is located above the glovebox(which I had to remove to get to it).

I destroyed one of the door switches on my 91 daytona because the ding annoyed me. After that, it randomly dinged all the time, sometimes seemingly due to road conditions, making turns, sometimes just out of nowhere with the car sitting still. After awhile I decided it was just talking to me so I started talking to it and my passengers all thought I was crazy. But I thought they were crazy because the passenger seat belt mounting point was barely attached, although maybe I wasn't forward enough about sharing that information. Anyway, it doesn't ding anymore because I scrapped it. I kept everything but the door switch.

Hope this in some way helps,
Pete

does the car have 2 switches at the doors one in the front by the hinges? (this does the interior lights) and one back by the latch? (this would be the one acting up) here read this thread he had the ding ding and his auto door lockes wouldn't stop locking the doors. Automatic door locks while car is moving.

I'm getting the same exact symptoms now as Baymen4life. Did you just unplug the speaker to take out the chime?
NAJ: For the inputs you listed, does L/F door switch mean only Left Front switch? Not the rest?
And also, i think i dont have the seatbelt switch in mine, since i never had it chime before when i was driving without seatbelt..

Some vehicles use a seperate chime module and others are thru the BCM.
Are there any lights on on the dash or in the vehicle telling you why it is chiming?
Headlights on, key in ignition, door ajar, temp, oil pressure, low fuel, seat belt warning, etc.

Well, there are no lights on the dash. I have a display next to the trip computer, which shows if i have any doors open, it's showing that all doors are closed. Also the interior light is off, so i would suspect that the hinge side door switches are not the ones to blame?
I also checked the latch side door swithces, 2 of them were not working well so i pulled the out. Still i get the ding..
It starts after i've driven for a moment.. Comes and goes quite randomly. I noticed that when i open and close a door it stops for a moment, then continues again..
This chime module, is it also on top of the glove box?

I am looking in a 1990 manual and all of the vehicles that use a chime module it seems to be located on the R/S of the instrument panel.
