i found a 6 button traveler in a 90+ lebaron at the junkyard today and i want to test it, but i dont know what wires do what. also, would this traveler swap in with a lebaron that is wired for a two button traveler. i know the connectors are the same but im not sure if different wires are used. thanks.

yes and no. I have a 6 button as well but from the thread I started way back it seems the year the 6 button came out of matters for what you want to put it in. I believe The split is 91 and back and 92 and up. From that thread I was told there is no differancew in appearance between the 2. I believe I have a 91 and back but need a 92 and up. If yours is a 92 and up and need a 91 and back I'll trade you. There is a slight differance in wiring for the 6 button in this link Wiring a Lebaron Traveler computer they say for the 2 button setup pin 5 is not needed. it is needed for the 6 button and pin 1 is not used. pin 5 gets 12v+ unswitched power if I got it right. My 94 lebaron does not have even have a wire in pin 5 and the plug I got to wire in my daytona didn't either. If you got one out of a car I would guess you have that wire if you took the plug. What year car did you get it out of and what year do you want to put it in. The thread I started also had some of the other things that would be needed to make full use of the 6 button traveler. here is my thread good thing I don't start many so it was easy to find. 6 button traveler 90+ lebaron

i didnt even check to see what year the car was. i just figured they were all the same from 90+. i dont plan on putting it in any car though. i just make trips to junkyards to find rare chrysler/dodge parts to put on ebay.

is there anyway of telling what year car my 6 button traveler came from. without actually going back to the jyard (2 hours away) and looking. also, if hook up the ground wire (black/green) and the 12v wire (pink), will the unit at least power up and show something on the screen?

My unit doesn't light up if wired that way but am pretty sure mine is 90-91 and I have a 92 car. If I understood what was in that thread. The 2 button units get a keyed power source and the 6 button stays powered all the time and that activity on the buss line wakes it up and shutting off the car (buss goes dead) puts it to sleep.

I have a 92+ 6 button traveler. I wired the pink wire to my cigarette lighter and it wouldn't turn on at all, only when I wired the ignition source to the pink wire did the unit power up and display, but reset everytime that I turned the key to off [obviously]. Actually, I'm not too sure what happen, but I remember something about the door "beeper" just himming the entire time the car was on, I'm going to test the traveler out again.
charger R/T, I'd be very interested in a trade, I'm looking for a 1990/91 Daytona as a project car, and I'd LOVE to have the 6 button traveler in it. I'm all about the retro 80s digital look. I have a 1990/91 digital dash from a lebaron which I paid a hefty load for, but was worth it.

I'm up for a trade for a 92 6 button traveler. Mine didn't light up at all when wired with the pink wire but from what the one poster in my link was telling me it could just sleep without the buss line active with code it understands. I am 99% sure mine is for the 90-91 I bought it on ebay and the add pretty much matched this thread I found here except pricing was a little lower. 6 button lebaron gtc traveler, works too So I am pretty sure I bought it from this board member. I also found this thread from him later selling a 91 car with 6 button 91 gtc turbo vert 400.00 detroit area
Let me know I am pretty sure I know where I put it in my garage but haven't looked at it since about the time of the thread I started asking the wiring questions.

does anyone have any semi-large pictures of the 6-button? I'd like to see if it would fit a spirit, thanks.

I'll try to snap one this afternoon. I found mine yesterday. The 2 button is exactly the same shape if you have one. I think the 6 button in deeper.

Here are some pics I have of mine.
If you have a Daytona 91+, the "shelf" or whatever its called has the same screw locations.

looks like the wiring is way different. the spirit has two harnesses, one shows doors/trunk open and some other warning lights that i've never seen come on. oh well

hello.. for this to work, you need the body control module from the donor car.. there is no way to " bench test" this traveler.. well you could, only if you were to get a few feet of the harness from the body control module, and the traveler, splice them together, and had some wiring diagrams, you could make it light up.. i have tried this with a new yorker evic, (basically the same setup). the traveler gets its wake up signal from the body control module, when you turn on the ignition. I have not been able to try it on my 6 button traveler, as i did not get back to the donor car quickly enough.. and the rest of the car was crushed, along with that rare 1992 body control module ):
