Im looking into doing a map clamp. The overboost protection pisses me off I have a wideband to monitor fuel, so no need of "leaning out and blowing things up" warnings, please.

Any ideas on where to get this diode? Radio shack was about worthless...

What you are looking for is a 4.3 Zener Diode. Just do a search on the below link for one, it'll kick back several different types.

Radio Shack is useless now. It used to be you could go in there and ask electronics related questions and the people working there would be able to answer you. Now they just look at you with a bewildered look on their faces. I hate Radio Shack.

Good point, forgot about the 4.7, however, an SOD-323 package is meant for soldering on microboards and integrated circuits.

Found a link for the 1N4732A: Digi-Key - 1N4732ADICT-ND (Diodes Inc - 1N4732A-T)

$ 0.36 + S/H

use the 4.3v one

the local electronic store here had 4.7 ones but not 4.3, so I tried it, it still hit boost cut as it was just too close to the cut voltage for the map, switched to a 4.3 I had to order in and works great. again I got it by ordering it through my electronics store, cost me about $6
