My gages are not all working, the boost isnt is there a way to check them are not. The tack and alt. are working but the temp. isn't. Would I be better off finding a different cluster. THANKS RONNIE rfralicks@yahoo.com

temp is related to a sensor, check the codes in the computer see what it says first. boost is related to a hose from under the hood to the cluster.

temp gauge sensor is a differant sensor then the computer uses for temp so no code would set if its bad. You didn't say what engine you have. V-6 has the 1 wire sensor next to the thermostat housing. I would also guess an 8 valve 4 cylinder should as well. I know the TIII is near the thermostat as well. look for a small sensor with a 1 wire push on plug. the sensor has a stud for the wire end to push on. If you ground the wire with the key on the gauge should go all the way up if the wiring and gauge are good.

The vacuum line probably is a hard line.

Sorry, I am having a difficult time understanding your grammar.

That vacuum line that goes to the boost guage goes through the firewall on the passenger side of the car, which is also where the MAP sensor is mounted. Someone undoubtedly was messing around with vacuum hoses under the hood and didn't hook everything up correctly, so now the boost guage no longer functions.

To check your temp gauge locate the Temperature Sending Unit (in the block above the oil filter, single wire) and with the key on/engine off ground the sending unit wire, if the gauge moves to full hot the sending unit is your problem, if not the problem is in the wireing or cluster.
The vacuum line for the boost gauge runs across the top of the P/S Pump pulley and into the vehicle thru the firewall on the passenger side.If the line is not damaged under the hood you will need to remove the cluster and be sure the line is connected and there is vacuum there.
The Map Sensor is located behind the P/S Pump on the firewall.
