Ok, so I'm swapping the cluster from a '94 shadow with tachometer into a '93 base model without. I don't have a set of cluster connectors from a tach car, so I did the following:
- counted and marked the pins on the back of the cluster ABCDEFGHJKL clockwise
-soldered a jumper wire between the traces of what should be K and J (the two pins at 9:00) according to the FAQ on allpar's forum
-drilled a hole and soldered a wire to the trace for what should be pin H (one below the other two) for it's own connector
Now, I have an SBEC from another vehicle so I yanked a pin out of it, and will put in on pin 43 of the SBEC on my car and hook it to the jumper on pin H.
Anyone see any problems with what I've done so far? I think I should be ok but I wanted to double check since I *just* got this car and it's in mint condition, last thing I want to do is let the smoke out...
