Most Chrysler vehicles with Automatic Climate Control (Digital) have the ability to self-diagnose, and show trouble-codes on the Digital Temperature
display. The procedure for troubleshooting A.C.C. is in the Service Manual for
your vehicle.

I posted the self diagnostic procedure for ATC in the thread "89 Lebaron t-2 ATC not working" in this section. Perform the self diagnostics and let me know what fault(s) you have.

Replacing digital with manual is a big job - IIRC the whole air box needs to be swapped along with the control panel. As mentioned, run the diagnostic procedure and post the results - since you have a 1990, parts for the ATC shouldn't be too hard to come by as they will freely interchange with 1988-1990 ATC system parts in the AC body cars (New Yorker, Dynasty) as well.

I have two cars with that system - starting to get used to troubleshooting them.

The biggest problem would be redoing all the vacuum lines, wiring and adding the blend door cable. Most later Chrysler AC cases have the holes for both the manual cable and blend motor. The wiring harness in the dash is different too, the ATC uses an SCR for blower speed, the manual has a set or resistors. You could leave the ATC controller there to plug the hole in the case.
