Trip computer/Navigator into a van

So there's this pocket directly above the radio in my '90 Voyager. Looks like if the pocket were removed, that would be the perfect sized opening for the trip computer. I have a good trip computer sitting here. Sure would be nice to be able to monitor my fuel consumption in real time with it. Wiring the thing up is pretty simple. Shouldn't be too hard to bolt it up, either. Anyone ever do this before?
