Rear window defroster crisis

I have a 87 daytona pacifica the rear window defroster will not work I have all the serv. manuals for the car and the switch works I do not have the main power going to the switch I have ignition only . I have located the fuseible link behind the battery and checked it I have 12 v on both sides is there a hidden connector somewhere under the carpet?The serv manuals are good but I cannot tell where the connctor is ,this weekend I will replace the carpet so Ill be looking any help would be great
