Digital speedometer reads ZERO, everything else works.

Ok, so i figured an old k car would have wiring problems, but would something like this be caused by wiring or a faulty sensor?

The dash works great otherwise, the speedo just reads zero no matter what.

Check for a vehicle speed sensor code, could very well be the speed sensor.

Often this is caused by dirt in the connector for the VSS - this happened to both of my '88 New Yorkers. You have to get in there and clean the connectors really good. Sensor should be located on the tranny extension housing where the passenger side axle goes in.

ok, so it works great after about 10 miles in the warm and dry, but if its early and cold, or raining, it doesnt work period.

Im about to check that connector, as thats exactly what i was thinking...

you guys are awesome. Its great to see such a knowledgeable and dedicated following for these cars, as i've had a great time with my convertible lebaron in the short time ive owned it...

Mine was accurate to 35mph, then it would go all wonky above 35. I switched it for a new one and no problems since then.
