hey guys and to who ever reads this it was a big help with info on the smoke through the fender question, but now i have a new problem, how do i test the voltage regulator or does any place test the regulator and alt. I now blew the fusible link to the alt. one of the 80 amp links blue wire in color so i know one of 2 things the alt. spiked and threw current backwards or the regulator is bad and sending to much current through the sys. please if any one has any advice on the topic let me know thanks for you help in this

First did it set any fault codes for charging system?
If you burnt a fuseable link you probably have a short in the wiring/alternator.
The regulator is part of the SMEC and only controls the ground side of the field wire.
Here is the wiring for your vehicles charging system, locate the fusable link that burnt and see where it comes from and goes and check that circuit for a short to ground and short to voltage.

thanks NAJ for the diagram and its going to help me out alot, one thing though the first circuit to blow was the ignition orange 40 amp link so i repaired that one then the alt. circiut blew\ after the alt. circuit blew i was still able to keep ignition power and the car turned over (did not let it run)
i replaced the power feed for the ignition with a maxi 40 and the other to a relay and pcm with a regular mini 25 inline fuse i guess i am curious why the ignition blew first then the alt one after the repair i used the correct amps and size of wire any other help would be greatly appriciated thanks again for your help so far

The only reason a fuse/fuseable link will blow is excessive amperage either by a component or the wiring is shorted to ground or voltage.
Are the fuses still blowing?
