I am willing to, if you feel it would be helpful, scan all the wiring diagrams related to the ESA and whatever with all the switches we're talking about for a 2.2 carb motor.

i wont do the whole body wiring and stuff.. just the meat and potatos to get this done. then I would look for a deal on a set for 85.

say the word though... it will take a while to do it.. so I need to know now.

If you would be able to do that, I would be greatly in debt to you. You've been more than helpful for me...sorry if I'm coming off as ignorant. I'm just trying to figure this out. Thank you very much for sticking in there with me.

Aw, geez I'm just figuring when he sees the rest of the schematics, it'll "click" in his head and get fixed...

Otherwise I'll forever wonder WTF was wrong with his GD car!

I mean it's gotta be only like one of three freakin things

relay...click? bad joke? LOL

I think it will help when I have the correct set of schematics in my hand instead of the incorrect ones that are in my 84 FSM that is obviously not right for my car.

I don't get what's so hard to figure out this easy circuitry. It isn't like aviation mechanics or rocket science. Did you ever think use the trouble shooting section of the book that walks you thru step by step the things to check and how to check them?

I don't have anything in the FSM that tells me step by step what to check. If there were such a section, I would have never made the thread in the first place.

Huh, all shop manuals I have give a trouble shooting section. So to help I need more background information. Do you have a good multimeter? Do you know how to read schematics? Can you interpret your results to know if the circuitry is working properly? Since you say you have a manual, I know it will have schmatics, do you know how to disect the parts of the circuit to get to the heart of what each wire does and how to test. Like does the wire have power (y/n) should it have power (y/n). Is the wire open (y/n) is the wire shorted to ground (y/n) does the wire show the correct voltage (y/n). Can I identify all the components involved in the circuit (y/n). and so on.

I totally understand what you're saying. My FSM has no such troubleshooting section.

I do have schematics, but as Screamin and I have deduced, my 1984 doesn't follow the 1984 schematics. They follow his 1985 schematics. So until I get the correct schematics for every integral part of this system, I will be unable to correctly track down the source of the problem.

I can read aircraft schematics, and I understand electronic principals. I am not, however, familiar, with the way automotive schematics are drawn up. They are different to me, and I am learning just exactly how different aviation and automotive diagrams truly are.

Just wait until you need to fix an Oshkosh Truck on the base like an ARF, HET, R11, HEMET. Once you do their wiring or air schematics, a F15 will be easy.

I FOUND IT!

I decided since the compressor wasn't kicking on, I'd stray away from the whole radiator fan not kicking on troubleshooting. Before I checked for voltage, I read for good continuity through the low and high pressure switches. Come to find out I had an open on one of the wires to the low pressure switch. I found the open (broken wire)and repaired it. Turned it back on and WALLAH! Compressor and fan both kick on! I ran the A/C a bit, it was cold but not chilly. Ran to O'Reilly's and got some refrigerant and it's ice cold now!

Thanks guys for helping me out, I greatly appreciate it. Hopefully this system won't cause me any more problems as I about pulled out all my damn hair...

Hey you, seems the guy you want to name call was leading you on the right path with checking the A/C. But it seems you were too much of a RETARD to get the hint. So maybe you checked pressure but as you found out pressure doesn't mean $hit if the switches/wiring are not working. The internet is a FREE source of information.

So, ummmm , Yeah.... I guess you didn't have continuity to ground with the A/C switch on....
