Is there a specific way to do this?
I pulled apart the entire motor, and cleaned everything up and i'm not sure how to set the timing on the ignition. Everything is together except the timing belt right now, and I wasn't sure if there was a specific way to set this.

If we made it a sticky I would still have to tell guys where to locate the pic so it is just a permanent scanned image on my computer.

Dude, if you posted the whole service manual it wouldn't break my heart.

New to these 2.2's, 2.5's, but years and years of Big Blocks.

This was exactly the info I needed

I've got the 2.5 on my daytona, I don't know if your intermediate sproket is like mine, but the timing mark is a barely visible cut on the edge of the gears, the same sprocket was used for the intermediate as the cam shaft. including the small hole that's the timing mark. originally I ended up having the distributor off because I lined up the small hole since I didn't see the cut.

My car (87 GLHS) is missing the emissions label the manual refers too. Can someone tell me what the timing is supposed to be set at for this car?

Also should the engine rpms drop or change when the temp sensor is unplugged. I can't tell the differance when I unplug it so I am wondering what the reason is for unpluging it if it does not affect the RPMs.

The turbo cars are 12 degrees btdc.
Unplugging the CTS puts the car in failure and brings ignition timing to base without computer control.
When you unplug the CTS with the engine running the power loss/check engine light will be illuminated on the dash.
