Induct: Turbo

my tach works very slow and when the engine is off it stays at 1000 sometimes it works perfect? should i change the cluster or can i fix the tach 90 spirit turbo. thanks

Remove the cluster and reflow the solder joints on the cluster circuit board.

If it is anything like the P-bodies, the power to the tach gets cut off when the ignition is turned off. The G/J bodies of the 1990+ era have power all the time going to the tachometer (module) which allows it to zero itself out when the ignition is turned off. If you just unplug the tach while the car is running on the G/J bodies, the tach will stay at whatever RPM the engine was running at.
