I have an 89 lebaron turbo convertible. I just bought the vehicle and found that the A/C wire at the compressor was unplugged. I plugged it in and the A/C seems to function, however when I shut the A/C off, the compressor still seems to be engaged and running. I have since unplugged the compressor and taken the belt off until I rectify the problem. Could this be the switch on the interior or the A/C relay and if it is the relay, where can I find it?

Check and see if the compressor is being powered when it is off. If power is not present at the connector the problem is not with the relay or control unit, you have a Clutch/Coil that will not disengage.
If there is power present the relay is on the left side fender, it is the second one back from the front of the car.
Relay location from front to back,
(ASD relay, A/C Clutch Relay, Cooling Fan Relay, Starter Relay on strut tower)
