Hi,
I have a dealer installed RKE for my 1990 Acclaim. The part number is 4638130. Chrysler changed the number to; 82300986. I need to replace the transmitter but there is no obvious ground on the unit for programing a new transmitter like the factory type unit.

Does anyone have information on these units and how to reprogram the remote?

There is a green wire from the case that terminates in the connector. I am guessing that this might be like the factory green wire used to program a new transmitter but I don't want to take that chance.
Thanks.

Connect the dark green program wire to ground. Then the door locks will cycle to indicate the receiver is ready. Press any button on transmitter to set code. If there is a second transmitter, program it at this time. The door locks will cycle to confirm programming has taken place. Disconnect the dark green program wire. Hopefully that will help you.

Thanks for the info. So the green wire in the dealer installed RKE serves the same function as the factory connection at the center console?
